  • What it's about? It all started just few months before Covid-19 would have shaken our lives. The idea being that committed Christians, regardless of their traditions, can come and pray together. Our vision is to create an informal 'monastery without walls'. Here we learn to pray, to make an effort for a regular and more disciplined prayer life.
  • What do we pray? We pray set texts. At mornings and at evenings. Sometimes the Morning and Evening Prayer is combined with the Mass, the daily celebration of the Eucharist. Attending it is an option. People attend when they can make it.
  • In what way? It can be followed on YouTube, Zoom, or Twitter as a live-stream. Or you can join us via Zoom, which feels more interactive. We recommend to buy a hard copy of the Prayer Book. or you can use an app, or read the texts online.
  • What are the benefits? It is the regular prayer of the Church, it is a daily 'work' for the benefit of the Christian communities worldwide. Personally, it nourishes one's faith in a sure and unsurpassable way. It brings peace. It makes our day and life focused. It helps us to be in touch with God and our neighbours. It gives hope. It creates positivity. It draws us into a fellowship, where one is never lonely or lost. It gives the daily experience of the friendship with Christ. In brief, we cultivate our sense of 'what is real' versus the distractions and superficiality of our cyber-age.
  • What do we learn? We learn about spiritual life. We learn about the Rule of Saint Benedict, or the Rule of the New Jerusalem Community, when we read from them. We learn to meditate on the Old and New Testament Readings of the Lectio Divina.
  • Connection with your local churches. We aim to invite people to join us from the surrounding estates, like Beaufort Park, Pulse, Redrow, Colindale Gardens, Trinity Square, The Hyde, Grahame Park, or beyond. It is a joint mission of Saint Augustine's Church, Grahame Park and Saint Matthias, Colindale (North London)
  • What tradition? Christians from different tradition can pray together. Our approach is deliberately ecumenical, and appreciates the tradition of the historical churches. We use payer book of Common Worship, and parts of the Roman Catholic Divine Office. We sing or recite the Psalm.
